"Why shouldn’t you strengthen your own vibrations through fellowship with people seeking Self-realization, and by group meditation with them? This practice will fortify your own spiritual convictions; you will find that many seemingly insuperable barriers in your life will crumble and dissolve in the waters of meditation. Your devotion and love for God will commingle with the devotion and love of others. Divine bliss will radiate from you, helping all persons you meet.” -- Paramahansa Yogananda

Welcome to Lawrence Meditation Circle's informative web page. LMC is affiliated with Self-Realization Fellowship in Los Angeles, California. Our Guru is Paramahansa Yogananda. The purpose of Self Realization Fellowship is to disseminate a knowledge of definite, scientific techniques for attaining direct personal experience of God. The Fellowship is dedicated to promoting a greater understanding and harmony among the world’s various religions by teaching the fundamental principle of religion: how to commune personally with God.

We hope that you will feel at home here at the Lawrence Meditation Circle. We are located in the progressive town of Lawrence, Kansas. Meditation
If you have limited experience with meditation, here are some basic guidelines:
1. Sit with the spine erect
2. Keep the eyes closed 3. Relax the body 4. Calm the mind 5. Concentrate your attention at the point between the eyebrows, the seat of the spiritual eye in man.
6. Those who know an SRF technique of concentration may practice it silently with devotion. 7. If you know no definite technique of meditation, you may talk with God in the language of your heart, praying or chanting inwardly with the attention focused at the spiritual eye. By daily meditation with the attention at the Christ center you will realize the eternal truth of Jesus' words- "The kingdom of God is within you."
